2026 GMC Sierra 1500 vs Ford F-150

GMC Sierra 1500 vs. Ford F-150: Which Truck Offers More?

Pickup trucks aren't just for work anymore. Many people use them for daily transportation or weekend getaway vehicles. The new GMC Sierra 1500 can handle heavy loads, but it stands out for its roomy interior and luxuriously appointed Denali trims. The new Ford F-150 has stout capabilities, but it's not as well-rounded as the Sierra 1500. At Muscatell GMC, we created the following comparison to help you decide which of these two trucks suits you best.

Interior

Cab Materials

Like most trucks, the GMC Sierra 1500 entry-level models have basic amenities like cloth or vinyl seats and a six-speaker audio system. However, Denali Ultimate trims come with two-tone embossed leather upholstery and leather accents on the door panels, along with open-pore wood trim on the dash.

The Ford F-150 Platinum and King Ranch trims have posh cabin materials, but they're not quite as luxurious as the Sierra 1500 Denali and Denali Ultimate models.

Cabin Space

The new GMC Sierra 1500 has a spacious cab that lets everyone ride in comfort. Crew Cab models have a class-leading 44.53 inches of front legroom.

The new Ford F-150 only offers 43.9 inches of front legroom in its most spacious cab.

Cargo Bed

Bed Lengths

One of the wonderful things about pickup trucks is their cargo boxes for stowing tools, supplies, or even furniture. The new GMC Sierra 1500 offers three bed sizes, including 69.9-inch, 79.4-inch, and 98.2-inch lengths.

The new Ford F-150 also has three bed options, but they're a little shorter - including 67.1-inch, 78.9-inch, and 97.6-inch beds.

Tailgate Functionalities

The new GMC Sierra offers an available MultiPro tailgate that can serve as a bed step, bed extender, or workbench. The back flap unfolds to function as a load stopper for extended loads. The main part of the tailgate can be used as a place to sit with a footrest, and the sides of the main gate even have "cupholder" indents.

The new Ford F-150's available Pro Access Tailgate has a side-hinged inner section that opens to the side. However, it doesn't have six functions like the Sierra 1500's MultiPro tailgate.

Technology

The new GMC Sierra 1500 offers a 13.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Google Built-In on all but the base Pro trim.

The new Ford F-150's largest touchscreen is just 12 inches long.
