2026 GMC Sierra 1500 vs Ram
2026 GMC Sierra 1500 vs. 2026 Ram 1500: Which Truck Wins?
Full-size trucks offer more versatility than most vehicles, with workhorse skills, off-road supremacy, and reliable everyday transportation. The new GMC Sierra 1500 excels at all those capabilities, and it can even double as a luxury pickup in the Denali trims. The new Ram 1500 is also a capable light-duty truck, but it falls short of the Sierra 1500 in a few key areas. At Muscatell GMC, we want you to be completely pleased with your pickup, so we're providing the following comparison to assist with your choice.

Capability and Power
For many, the biggest reason for driving a truck is its ability to pull trailers or haul supplies. The new GMC Sierra 1500 can tow up to 13,300 pounds when properly equipped.
The new Ram 1500 has a maximum towing capacity of 11,610 pounds.
The new GMC Sierra 1500 offers you a choice of four engines to get the muscle or efficiency you need for your commute around town or distant weekend voyages. Its base turbocharged four-cylinder engine generates 310 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque. An available turbodiesel engine puts out 305 horsepower and 495 pound-feet of torque.
The new Ram 1500 only has three engine options, and its standard V6 powerplant only produces 305 horsepower. A turbodiesel engine is not available in the Ram 1500.
Technology
A nice infotainment system can make slow slogs in bumper-to-bumper city traffic more enjoyable. The new GMC Sierra 1500 comes with a 13.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system in all but the base Pro trim. It also has wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and access to Google Built-In.
The new Ram 1500's mid-level touchscreen is only 12 inches long. A larger screen is available, but you must purchase the top-tier Tungsten trim to have it. Additionally, Google Built-In is not offered in the Ram 1500.
